Manuela

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

UPDATE of the foster home 05/2026 Erst since about a week, the Cuddle Cush Manuela is now in my foster home, and she has already adapted well to the daily routine. I can therefore make a first small description of her. Always in a good mood, Manuela starts her day, and after breakfast, it's off for her beloved walk. We've already met several different dogs on these walks, and Manuela behaved very friendly towards them. When encountering horses, Manuela remained very calm from the start. When it comes to house poultry, as long as they are in the enclosure, they are not greatly noticed. However, when a hen becomes independent again, the pretty female dog by my side prefers a slightly quicker step towards her home. Unlike a feisty hen, she cannot be stirred by a private fireworks display or an approaching thunderstorm. Outdoors, she is always wide awake and interested in her surroundings – after the walk, she is very calm and pleasant in the house. She now runs very well on the leash, is house-trained, and travels well and happily in the car. With small children, she is very gentle and careful. She enjoys being stroked by them. She does not seem to have a prey drive. When encountering cats or fleeing rabbits, she stops and waits until they are gone. 09/25 Manuela, Sarah, and Zaja – three absolute dream dogs are searching for their forever family. Each of them brings a special character: friendly, open, and full of life. The staff at the shelters can hardly understand why these three charming female dogs are still waiting for their people – they are so wonderful in character and nature. Two of the five siblings have already found a family, but Manuela, Sarah, and Zaja are still searching for their place – a family that will give them time, love, and adventure. A family reports on their treasure: Emma (formerly Akira)

About Manuela

What life with Manuela looks like

Manuela is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Forchheim in Forchheim.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Manuela, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Manuela?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Forchheim handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Manuela on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Manuela if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Forchheim will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Manuela already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Manuela isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Forchheim early rather than rehoming privately; they know Manuela and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
