What does an animal cost from the animal shelter? published on 01.08.2025 in Tips & Interesting We do not sell animals – we convey animals into a new life! Do not buy – adopt! When animals come to us, whether as a tax or as a fund animal, they are always first examined by our teams and veterinarians. If necessary, because it has not yet happened: neutered, hurried, vaccinated, treated as needed against parasites and in diseases and injuries. All animals are preferably marked/chipped and registered by us on the new holder. Since the animals often stay with us between 1 and 6 months – sometimes also years – we have to expect high costs quickly. Therefore, we also like to call on our community to donate on all channels. Here is a small sample calculation so you can see how everything is composed:A find dog stays with us at least 60 days*. We expect €20.00 per day, which means: for Kost & Logis €1,200, 1st vaccination €50 and 2nd vaccination €50. A necessary castration then costs about 300-500€, depending on the weight and gender. The chipping by the veterinarian costs another 30€. So if this dog can be conveyed after 60 days, we already have costs of about 1.630€ (animal price!), on the clock. * 60 days = veterinary examination, inoculation (1st and 2nd), castration, recovery, presentation on the mediation page, 3 to 6 times visit the dog and go with him Gassi until they finally adopt it. Protection fee and protection contract (as of 2026): Cat / Cat - 200€ Cat puppy - 120€ to 150€ (depending on the vaccination status)Hund - 400€ Dog puppy - 500€ rodent/small animal - 25€ to 80€(canine, hamster, guinea pig, etc.) Parrot birds - 200€ to 500€ small birds - 10€ to 50€ The withdrawal period is usually 14 days. Tierheimtier – Schutzgebühr Wenn Tiere zu uns kommen, ob als Abgabe- oder als Fundtier, werden sie immer zuerst von unseren Teams und Tierärzten untersucht. Wenn notwendig, weil noch nicht geschehen: kastriert, entwurmt, geimpft, bei Bedarf gegen Parasiten und bei Krankheiten und Verletzungen behandelt. Vor Auszug werden alle Tiere gekennzeichnet/gechippt und von uns auf den neuen Halter registriert. Da die Tiere nicht selten zwischen 1 und 6 Monaten – manchmal auch Jahre - bei uns bleiben, müssen wir schnell mit hohen Kosten rechnen. Daher rufen wir auch so gern und so oft auf allen Kanälen unsere Community auf zu spenden. Hier eine kleine Beispiel-Rechnung, damit Sie sehen wie sich alles zusammensetzt:Ein Fundhund bleibt bei uns mindestens 60 Tage*. Pro Tag rechnen wir mit 20,00 €, heißt: für Kost & Logis 1.200€, 1. Impfung 50€ und 2. Impfung 50€. Eine notwendige Kastration kostet dann noch rund 300-500€, je nach Gewicht und Geschlecht. Das Chippen durch den Tierarzt kostet noch einmal ca. 30€.
