Spanish Greyhound female, born June 15, 2019, 62 cm tall. Mara was already adopted by a family in Spain. Unfortunately, it soon became apparent that cohabitation with the family’s existing cats wasn’t working out. The family was no longer allowed to return Mara to the organization from which they had adopted her. As a result, she ended up at our partner organization PROA in Madrid and was eventually able to travel to Switzerland to join us. Mara, the Attentive One. Mara is a calm and gentle Galgo who carefully chooses her people with great sensitivity. At first, she approaches new situations cautiously and with an observant attitude. Hectic movements or overly energetic behavior make her feel uneasy. Once Mara realizes she’s safe, she seeks closeness to her primary caregiver and begins to enjoy shared time and quiet affection. Character and Temperament—Basic temperament: initially reserved, calm, sensitive—Trust toward humans: Shy; she needs some time—Sociability and willingness to approach: Wait-and-see—Social behavior toward dogs: Social. She slowly starts interacting with her canine companions—Social behavior toward cats: According to her previous family, she isn’t particularly social with cats—Everyday competence: Shows some uncertainties—Uncertainties: quick and hectic movements—Adaptability to new situations: She needs some time—Exploratory behavior: Mara is cautious yet interested and curious—Level of movement and activity—Need for exercise: Average. Galgo Español Hündin 15.06.2019 62 cm Mara wurde in Spanien bereits von einer Familie adoptiert. Leider zeigte sich nach kurzer Zeit, dass das Zusammenleben mit den vorhandenen Katzen nicht funktionierte. Die Familie durften Mara nicht mehr zu der Organisation, von der sie sie adoptiert hatten, zurückbringen. So ist sie zu unserer Partnerorganisation PROA in Madrid gekommen und konnte schliesslich zu uns in die Schweiz reisen. Mara, die Achtsame. Mara ist eine ruhige und behutsame Galga, die sich ihren Menschen mit viel Feingefühl aussucht. Neuen Situationen begegnet sie zunächst vorsichtig und beobachtend. Hektische Bewegungen oder stürmisches Vorgehen verunsichern sie. Hat Mara erst einmal erkannt, dass sie in Sicherheit ist, sucht sie die Nähe zu ihrer Bezugsperson und beginnt, die gemeinsame Zeit und die ruhige Zuwendung zu geniessen.
