Margarine is looking for a peaceful home with a confident dog who can help her feel secure and show her the ropes. She really enjoys having a dog best friend beside her as it helps her approach new experiences with much more confidence. A quiet household with a predictable routine would suit her beautifully, along with a private garden where she can relax, explore and enjoy plenty of sniffing at her own pace. She may also be able to live with sensible, dog-savvy children who understand that she sometimes needs a little space and time to settle. Margarine likes to get to know new people gradually, and gentle walks are a lovely way for her to begin building a bond without feeling under pressure. Her adopters will need to continue helping her feel comfortable with things such as wearing her harness and being handled, using plenty of patience, reassurance and positive training. She has appeared settled when left for short periods in familiar environments, although any time alone should be built up gradually once she is happy in her new home. Margarine is a sweet and sensitive Dachshund who is looking for a calm home where she can take life at her own pace. She can be worried by unfamiliar people, sudden movements and loud noises, but once she begins to trust someone, her softer and more affectionate side starts to shine through. This little lady enjoys her food and loves the company of other dogs. In fact, she is noticeably more confident when she has a canine friend beside her and is much happier exploring on walks when another dog is showing her the way. Margarine may initially prefer to observe from a safe distance, but with patience and gentle encouragement, she becomes curious about her surroundings and enjoys having a good sniff. Margarine is not currently very interested in playing with toys, although she does like carrying them back to her bed and keeping them close. She is often happiest relaxing somewhere comfortable, watching what is going on around her and enjoying the reassurance of familiar people and dogs.
