Marigold

Bichon Frisé · Female · Young · 2 years

Marigold came into our care as a stray. We believe she is around 2 years old and considering just how timid she was on arrival, she likely hasn't had many positive experiences with people in the past. Over the last few months she has come out of her shell a lot and has learnt to enjoy the comforts of a home, as well as the joys of going on walks! She is quite energetic when she wants to be but her favourite thing is relaxing at home with her favourite people. Marigold will thrive in a calm, relaxed home where her family understands the importance of letting her settle at her own pace and giving her the time and space she needs to feel safe with handling and everyday life. Once you've earned her trust, you'll discover a sweet, affectionate little girl with a playful, fun-loving personality. Sweet little Marigold has spent the last few months in one of our foster homes, taking things at her own pace and growing in confidence. Marigold is hoping to find a calm, understanding family with a friendly resident dog of a similar size and temperament to help her continue to blossom. At this stage, we're only considering homes with a neutered female dog. Her ideal home would be in a peaceful area with a private, secure garden where she can relax and explore as she settles in. Children in the home should be secondary school aged or older as she can find the younger ones a little worrying. She'll need a home where someone is around for most of the time initially but we're hopeful that, with the reassurance of a canine companion, she'll gradually learn that being left for short periods isn't so scary.

About Marigold

What life with Marigold looks like

Marigold is a young adult bichon frisé dog waiting at Dogs Trust Snetterton in Snetterton.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marigold, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marigold?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Snetterton handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marigold on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marigold if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Snetterton will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marigold already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marigold isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Snetterton early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marigold and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
