Marilou

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Marilou has found a home! Her story: Marilou is playful, open, active, cuddly, and quite wiggly. Marilou is absolutely people-oriented and loves to be cuddled for hours. But she also loves to run around, dig, and have adventures with the other foster dogs. The little mouse is 4 months old and has a shoulder height of about 20 cm and weighs around 3 kilos. But, like all puppies, one shouldn't be fooled by her cute appearance: Marilou brings not only cute paws but also a fair amount of chaos into your life. House training, being left alone, going on walks, car rides, environmental stimuli – she still doesn't know all of this and needs to be shown it with patience and time. Especially recommended is a visit to a positively working dog training class, where Marilou can not only learn the dog ABCs but also how to interact with other dogs and people. She is probably a terrier mix and will stay small when fully grown. Puberty will also not pass Marilou by unnoticed – she will test boundaries, loudly express her opinion, and sometimes act as if she has never heard of "sit," "stay," or "no." During this phase, she needs loving consequences, calmness, and people who understand and support her development and forgive her occasional mishaps. Marilou is clever and curious – a great combination to keep her mentally and physically stimulated in a meaningful and species-appropriate way. Whether small games in the garden, joint training, or perhaps even a dog sport like mantrailing or hoop jumping: the main thing is that she can participate and get mental and physical stimulation. Marilou is looking for a home that is prepared for a mix of puppy chaos, cuddle moments, learning moments, and great joy. Whoever shows her how wonderful the world can be gets a faithful companion for life. Marilou is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and brings an EU pet passport with her and can be shipped after a positive our area. Stand: 15.05.

Vielen Dank an Marita! Du hast Marilou ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 15.05.2025

About Marilou

What life with Marilou looks like

Marilou is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marilou, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marilou?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marilou on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marilou if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marilou already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marilou isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marilou and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
