adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Our pretty Marion was dropped off at the public shelter in Bistrita. The man said he found the female dog with her three puppies. But our local helpers found out that wasn't true. The giver of Marion was also her owner. One puppy was locally rehomed. Marion, Montana, and Karla are now all three searching for their own home. Marion is about 3 years old and has a nice, rather small size at 45 cm. She is very friendly, people-oriented, and a true cuddle bug. Only with other dogs does she currently show herself to be unfortunately incompatible, which is why she is looking for an individual spot. Due to her breed, this is unfortunately not possible in Germany. Marion is currently suffering extremely in the cramped kennel. As she never gets out, she is confined to 2 square meters for 24 hours and we are very worried she might develop kennel stress. She simply cannot cope with the tight space and the noise. We assume Marion is an American Staffordshire Terrier. Possibly purebred. With that, she falls into the category of so-called Listehunde in Germany, category 1. It is unfortunately not allowed for us to place her in Germany. But in many other countries like Liechtenstein, Austria, and in some cantons of Switzerland, this is possible – please inform yourselves beforehand. We are looking for responsible and confident adopters for the obedient but character-strong Marion, who already have sufficient dog experience and breed knowledge. Although American Staffordshire Terriers are trusting, curious, and loyal four-legged friends, they require good socialization and loving, but consistent handling. One must gradually acclimate Marion to her new life as a family dog and teach her with understanding and continuous training the still completely unknown dog 101, including the contact with other dogs. As usual, a visit to a dog training class that works with positive reinforcement could be helpful here and strengthen the important human-dog bond even further. The nicely brown-stroked female dog can travel to her new life neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated. She would also be very happy with a foster home. Where are the AmStaff lovers? Who will give Marion her happiness? We thank Talking for Pride Community for taking on the naming sponsorship! The start of a new life! As of: 25.07. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 25.07.2024

About Marion

What life with Marion looks like

Marion is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marion, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marion?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marion on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marion if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marion already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marion isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marion and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
