Marley

Cockapoo · Male · Young · 1 year

Marley is a happy boy with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life. He's always on the go, loves to stay active, and is happiest when he's spending time with his people. Whether it's exploring new places, playing games or learning something new, Marley is always ready for his next adventure. One of his favourite things in the world is his toys, and he loves nothing more than a game of fetch or playtime with his favourite squeaky toy! This clever lad thrives on structure and would love an adopter who can continue his training using positive, reward-based methods. He enjoys keeping his mind busy and will flourish with regular exercise, enrichment and plenty of opportunities to learn.Marley has made fantastic progress during his time in our care, including working through some resource guarding behaviours. He's responded brilliantly to consistent training, and we're looking for an adopter who is happy to continue building on the great progress he's made.As Marley enjoys having his own space, he'd be happiest as the only dog in the home. He can be friendly with other dogs out and about, but he'd love to have his home and family all to himself.Due to his strong chase instinct, Marley is looking for a home without cats or other small animals. In return, you'll gain a loyal, affectionate best friend who is full of character, loves to have fun, and is ready to make wonderful memories with his forever family.

About Marley

What life with Marley looks like

Marley is a large young adult cockapoo dog waiting at RSPCA Cornwall Branch in Saint Columb.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Cornwall Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Cornwall Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Cornwall Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
