Marley

Unknown · Senior · 9 years

LABRADOR STAFFIE CROSS Marley is an elder dog, deserving some comfort in his final years. Can you provide that for him? Since his Mama Pawrent died, Marley has spent long hours on his own. He really needs company and the opportunity to have regular walks. He is a lovely boy and does appear to be in good health. Due to his age, we will consider foster, so that medical needs are met. He has lived with another dog for over a decade and takes little notice of dogs he encounters. He hasn’t lived with children and is not child tested. Marley was very pleased to have a visitor, barking and wagging his tail. He took a little while to settle down but that is to be expected, given his lack of company and exercise. He probably can follow basic instructions but was too excited to do so. He was very good at having his harness put on though, and was ready for a walk. We walked him outside his home, and he wasn’t too bad considering – he pulled, but manageable. He was eager to sniff and explore. He’s an old boy but still has a life to lead – he wants company, love and attention and some regular exercise. Is that too much to ask? Can we find him:- An owner who is home a reasonable amount of time in the day A home with no young children A home with or without a resident dog No cats Access to a secure garden Love, attention and company! If you think you can offer him a home, please do apply. Marley is in Telford Shrophire after successful home assessments. Privacy Policy

About Marley

What life with Marley looks like

Marley is a senior dog waiting at Team Poundie in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Team Poundie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Team Poundie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Team Poundie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
