Bluey

Unknown · Young · 2 years

2 Years Old | Neutered | No Small Children | Pet Free Home Bluey’s story nearly ended before it began. Found tied to a tree, weak, injured, and barely able to stand, his future looked bleak. Thankfully, a kind veterinary nurse saved him, and Team Poundie stepped in to give him the chance he so desperately deserved. Now safe in our care, Bluey has already shown what a resilient, loving boy he is. He settled into kennels quickly and has formed wonderful bonds with his carers. Bluey has been assessed by our behaviourist and is a young, intelligent mixed bull breed with a big heart. He has shown friendly curiosity towards other dogs he’s met in kennels, though as we don’t know his full history, we can’t confirm if he could live with another dog. He’s a striking-looking boy – perhaps not everyone’s type – but those who love him will see past appearances and discover a gentle soul. With consistent training (which he really enjoys), Bluey has the potential to grow into a truly magnificent companion. Bluey has already shown so much love and trust to his carers. He thrives on treat-based training and absolutely loves his food (luckily, his playful energy keeps him in great shape!).When meeting new people, Bluey greets them with enthusiasm – sometimes a little too much – but he quickly settles and shows his affectionate side. He walks well on the lead, though being a strong lad, he’ll need someone confident handling him.Playful, interactive, and eager to learn, Bluey is finally beginning to experience the joy of life as any young dog should. Bluey is looking for a forever home where he can continue his journey and become the best version of himself. He’ll need:A home with enough space to comfortably accommodate his size.No children under 12, as he can be big and bouncy at times. An owner experienced with larger or bull breeds, who combines strength with kindness.A commitment to provide not just love, but ongoing training to help Bluey thrive.A pet-free home to start with, although with careful introductions and the right match, it may be possible for him to live with a well-socialised dog. About Bluey

What life with Bluey looks like

Bluey is a large young adult dog waiting at Team Poundie in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bluey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bluey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Team Poundie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bluey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bluey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Team Poundie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bluey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bluey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Team Poundie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bluey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
