Marley ***reserviert***

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Marley is one of those dogs who is often overlooked. In his case, this has meant that he has spent his entire life at Smeura - until now, when he finally has the chance to change his fate. It's amazing how quickly dogs who have hardly experienced anything in their lives adapt to new situations. Marley loves to roam our grounds, snuggling up to people for cuddles. Marley is doing great so far. Of course, much is still unknown, but his enthusiasm and curiosity for life also make him dare to take the next step and be very proud of himself. And you can really be that, dear Marley!! He gets along well with other dogs here (we can't test if he likes cats, unfortunately) - of course, this has been his whole life so far. He also enjoys just lying in the shade and being alone for a bit. Just looking around and, in the best case, getting some cuddles and moments with a person all to himself. He's actually quite young, just 4 years old, but his calm nature makes him seem older. And the fact that he still has a few pounds to lose certainly doesn't help. But it doesn't affect his mood at all, he's just called Mister Happy here. He has already mastered the first walks like a pro - super interested and obedient, he walks through the world and looks at everything with great interest. He wears the leash and harness as if it were normal, and passersby, other dogs, and cars don't phase him. One thing is clear: Marley loves his new life and is more than ready to take the step as a family member. We really hope that the time when he was overlooked is finally over - you can't miss such a great guy!! So, where are Marley's people?

DE·Show original

Also: wo sind Marley Menschen?

About Marley ***reserviert***

What life with Marley ***reserviert*** looks like

Marley ***reserviert*** is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at 4animals e.V. — Hundeauffangstation HASt in Essen.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marley ***reserviert***, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marley ***reserviert***?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. 4animals e.V. — Hundeauffangstation HASt handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marley ***reserviert*** on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marley ***reserviert*** if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — 4animals e.V. — Hundeauffangstation HASt will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marley ***reserviert*** already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marley ***reserviert*** isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with 4animals e.V. — Hundeauffangstation HASt early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marley ***reserviert*** and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
