Marley

Male · Senior · 13 years

Marley Tier-ID: 1011 At the animal shelter since 05.02.2026 (Current Interested Parties: 1) The charming senior Marley is a true heart dog on the lookout for a loving home for his next life chapter. At 13 years old, Marley may belong to the older semesters, but one wouldn't know it: he is fit, lively, well-behaved, and still enjoys going for walks. Cozy rounds in nice company simply belong to his routine. Marley is incredibly friendly, loves to snuggle for his life, and greets people openly and warmly—and he often shows himself to be uncomplicated with fellow animals. From his previous home, it is said that Marley already lived with cats, so a coexistence with dog-experienced cats could be conceivable—of course with careful acclimatization and integration. As Marley is relatively friendly, he would not be suitable for a rental apartment with multiple parties. A single-family home with a family that can handle his occasional impatience and the occasional verbal but never mean scolding would be wonderful. We cannot guarantee child-friendliness due to his friendly nature, but we consider a coexistence with understanding children to be well conceivable. Whether he can also be left alone without problems is currently unknown. Soon, Marley will be examined by a veterinarian to get an up-to-date health check.

About Marley

What life with Marley looks like

Marley is a senior dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
