Adopt Marli W

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Profile: Age: Born around 2022. Gender: Female. Spayed: YesCharacter: reserved, prefers distance but remains friendlyHeight: approx. 45 cmIn shelter since: July 2024 Siblings: Puppies Skittles, Felka, Mona (Filibert & Tippy – already relocated) Hello, dear friends, I am Marli, a gentle female dog with a big heart. As a young mother, I raised my five puppies under the most challenging street conditions. We were always in danger of being hit by cars – but then kind-hearted people discovered us and brought us all to a safe shelter together. Here, my little ones could finally grow up carefree. Today, my children are long independent and ready for their own paths – and now it's my turn to find a home that will give me security. I am a reserved and sensitive soul. Especially in dealing with people, I need time to build trust. I prefer to observe curiously from the sidelines at first and come closer only when I feel safe. I am friendly and gentle – but also cautious. I wish for people who understand and show me with patience that I can open up. What I truly wish for is a quiet home with empathetic people who meet me with love and patience. People who do not have immediate expectations of me but allow me to adjust at my own pace. Maybe you have a quiet everyday life, a cozy spot, and a big heart for a female dog who still needs to learn that she is loved. If you believe we would be a good match, I am very looking forward to getting to know you. If you are interested in Marli, please fill out our application form () or write us an email or a message on Facebook. Marli is ready to travel and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months old, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted before travel arrangements: Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariasis, and leishmaniasis. Ute & Klaus W. have taken on the sponsorship for Marli and thus ensure a full plate. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!

Steckbrief Alter: ca. 2022 geboren. Geschlecht: weiblich.

About Marli W

What life with Marli W looks like

Marli W is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marli W, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marli W?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marli W on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marli W if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marli W already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marli W isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marli W and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
