adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Marlon has found a family! His story: Sometimes all it takes is a little bit of fur to bring joy. And exactly this piece of joy could be our Marlon – a young heart dog with love, enthusiasm, and a generous portion of snuggle power to inspire every day anew. Marlon is an approximately 7-month-old Labrador-mixed breed with shining dark fur. Currently, he measures around 52 cm and weighs about 19 kg – he’s still growing, as he’s likely not fully grown yet. He’s incredibly playful, incredibly loving, and full of explorer spirit. Other dogs find him great company and he’s happy to have their company. He’s also met cats and seems to have no problems with them. As it befits a Labbi, Marlon is very people-oriented and wants to be right in the middle of everything, not just around. He’s looking forward to attention, spreading generous moods, and is always friendly and open-minded towards everyone and everything. For the very eager and active male dogs, we’re looking for people who like to be outdoors, have fun with movement and mental stimulation, but also know when it’s time for extensive cuddles. At the moment, Marlon lives in a Romanian foster home, where he’s already gathered some first impressions of life in a house. He’s familiar with living with people but still spends most of his time outdoors. Much will be new and exciting for him in his new home – even the small dog ABC still needs to be practiced diligently. With patience, time, and empathy, the uncomplicated Marlon will surely settle in quickly. We can’t help but mention that Marlon’s puberty is already in the starting blocks. This means: a lot of curiosity, energy, and certainly a bit of nonsense in his head – but most importantly, a wonderful time to learn together and grow as a team. Who would like to show the wonderful Marlon what a home can be like? A foster home would also be a significant step in the right direction. Many thanks, Johanna, for taking over his namesship. As of: 19.04. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 19.04.2025

About Marlon

What life with Marlon looks like

Marlon is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marlon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marlon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marlon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marlon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marlon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marlon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marlon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
