Marlowe

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Please help Marlowe by sharing this page! Gorgeous boy Marlowe is a Husky Cross of about 8-9 years, in the care of SOKS Dog Rescue . He's in a foster home in Torksey, Lincolnshire. Marlowe can live with other dogs and would be fine with a confident cat. He's on the larger side of medium-sized and can be bouncy when excited so it's thought that any children he lives with need to be at least 8 years old. Marlowe loves his walks and just pottering in the garden too. He's a joy to take out, walking nicely on the lead and drawing admiring glances from passers-by because he's so beautiful! Sadly Marlowe's sight has deteriorated and he has now lost his sight in one eye and the other is rapidly declining quickly. This wonderful boy needs a lovely home soon so he can get to know his way about. Marlowe is clean and well-behaved in the house. He does have many Husky characteristics, including the ability to sing when it seems appropriate. He's cheerful, affectionate and altogether a very Good Boy! If you want to enquire about lovely Marlowe, please contact SOKS Dog Rescue as follows: Email: Message via their Facebook page: Or leave a message on: Please say you saw Marlowe on the Oldies Club website. About Marlowe

What life with Marlowe looks like

Marlowe is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marlowe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marlowe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marlowe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marlowe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marlowe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marlowe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marlowe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
