Maromo

Male · Young · 1 year

I saw the light of day around mid-March 2025 and am now searching for my forever home. Together with my sisters Moza and Chati, I was rescued by caring animal protectors in Spain. My two sisters have already found their happy homes—now I’m hoping that soon I’ll find my own family too. I’m an active, playful young tomcat and would love to have at least one cat friend of about the same age in my new home, someone with whom I can romp and cuddle. I’d also be happy to bring one of my friends from Spain along—if you don’t yet have a suitable playmate waiting for me. At first, I’m still a bit shy and cautious around people. It’s possible that during the first few days I’ll hide a bit and take everything in calmly. But if you give me some time and patience, I’ll realize that I can trust you. Then I’ll reveal my cuddly side and really enjoy cozy snuggle sessions together. By contrast, I get along wonderfully with other cats and am open and friendly toward them. Right now, I’m still living in Spain. Before I can travel to you, I’ll be neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. I’ll also be tested for FIV and FeLV. Maybe I’ll soon be able to join you and make your home my very own? I’d be so thrilled to meet you!

About Maromo

What life with Maromo looks like

Maromo is a extra-large young adult cat waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Maromo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Maromo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Maromo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Maromo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Maromo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Maromo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Maromo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
