Martini

Mixed Breed · Male

I am Martini, approximately two years old. I was found and am now looking for a loving home where I can settle in and gain trust in peace. At the moment I am a bit shy and need some time to get used to new people. With a few tasty bribes you can already conquer my heart a good piece. When I notice that you mean well with me, I dare more and more out of my shell and show what a nice guy is in me. I wish for people who approach me with patience and understanding and give me the time I need. I don't have to be the big daredevil right away - I just want to build trust at my own pace. It is also very important to me that I can go outside after a proper acclimatization period. I am a tomcat who needs freedom to explore my surroundings and pursue my natural needs. Maybe you are exactly the person who shows me how beautiful a home can be? With a little patience, a few treats and a lot of heart we could become a great team. About Martini

What life with Martini looks like

Martini is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Wunstorf und Umgebung von 1934 e.V. in Wunstorf.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Martini, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Martini?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Wunstorf und Umgebung von 1934 e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Martini on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Martini if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Wunstorf und Umgebung von 1934 e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Martini already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Martini isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Wunstorf und Umgebung von 1934 e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Martini and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
