Mary (w)

Mixed Breed · Female

Lively, open, and very people-oriented, Mary, born on 12.08.21, around 55-60 cm tall, shows her charming personality in the private shelter in Constanta. Life could be so beautiful, wouldn’t it, if she didn’t have to sit in an animal shelter, which is so loud and simply so lonely. We want to change that quickly because this wonderful female dog loves people very much and suffers a lot when she is brought back to her kennel. Why hasn’t she found a dog bed yet? Unfortunately, the shelter is overcrowded, and the time for elaborate photo shoots is getting less and less each day, so treasures like Mary in her kennel are disappearing and are simply not found. Mary is simply lovely; she enjoys affection so much, without being overly pushy or demanding. In the mixed dog group, she gets along just fine. A cat test could also be done for her. So, what does a dog have to offer to get a chance at a loving home? She is beautiful, she is young, she is lovely, but unfortunately, she is currently in the wrong place. We want to change that quickly and are now searching for a wonderful happy ending for Mary in a loving family. Mary is at travel arrangements, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, and has the Snap 4 D test for Mediterranean diseases. All dogs come to Nuremberg and are also to be picked up here.

DE·Show original

About Mary (w)

What life with Mary (w) looks like

Mary (w) is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mary (w), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mary (w)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mary (w) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mary (w) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mary (w) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mary (w) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mary (w) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
