Mash

Female · Adult · 7 years

06-08-26 Mash is an extremely sensitive lady who has come to us from a breeder and is finding the world a little overwhelming. She is still wary of us humans and isn't ready to be approached or handled just yet, choosing instead to take things at her own pace. She can be extremely nervous and extra precaution will need to be taken to ensure her safety in the home. Mash will need a calm, understanding home that can offer her plenty of love, patience and reassurance as she begins to learn about trust. She will also need at least one kind and confident resident dog that she can look to for guidance and comfort as she settles into home life. She will need an adult-only home, that has experience with ex-breeders and can understand her needs, and that she may take time to come around. As Mash has never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to be patient while she learns about house training and all the routines that come with family life. Going for walks may feel too frightening at first, so gentle potters and sniffing around a secure garden will be the perfect way for her to build her confidence before venturing any further. She will need an extra-secure garden to keep her safe as she is nervous and can be flighty. Mash is a truly sweet girl who is simply overwhelmed by everything that is new to her. Given the time, patience and understanding she deserves, we are sure she will blossom into a wonderful companion. Mash has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Mash

What life with Mash looks like

Mash is a adult dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mash, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mash?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mash on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mash if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mash already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mash isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mash and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
