Adopt Max

Male · Young · 2 years

Such beauty should be banned. Max looks like a dog that stepped straight out of an ad for luxury pet food — an Instagram model in the "four paws" version. Impeccably white fur, no single darker spot, a gaze like on a cover — it's hard to pass by him without noticing. But behind this perfect appearance lies a real character and a difficult history that isn't visible at first glance. At first, he is cautious — he doesn't throw himself into arms immediately or rush like a hurricane. He needs a moment to understand that a person doesn't bring a threat. But when he finally grants someone his trust... he falls head over heels. Max falls in love with a person entirely — then he becomes a faithful shadow who won't miss any opportunity for contact. He is a low-to-the-ground gentleman who loves walks. Sniffing is his national sport — every bush is a new chapter in a dog's novel. He likes new places, stimuli, and children, and in canine company he generally keeps his manners. However, he sometimes gets a bit "too excited", not always remembering the space of another dog — therefore, the future caregiver should be someone who can guide him and take care of appropriate relationships. It's also worth remembering that his low height and build may require attention to the musculoskeletal system in the future — adoption is not only about beauty, but also responsibility. Max is looking for a human partner... not just for photos. Someone experienced who will see in him not only a beautiful white ball to show to friends, but a dog with whom you can work, socialize, and create a real bond. Because behind this Instagram facade lies a dog with a character and great potential.

Lubi nowe miejsca, bodźce i dzieci, a w psim towarzystwie generalnie trzyma sztamę.

About Max

What life with Max looks like

Max is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: May require future joint/bone care due to low build

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Max, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Max?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Max on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Max if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Max already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Max isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Max and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
