Maxi Junior ID No.: 1050468 Breed: mixed breed Age: *approx. 02/2025 Gender: male Shoulder height: approx. 57 cm Neutered: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Maxi Junior – sensitive young dog looking for his forever home Maxi Junior (*approx. 02/2025, approx. 57 cm) is waiting at the small animal shelter Sonrisa Peluda in Guaro (Spain), which works together with our partner shelter TripleA, to finally be seen. When he arrived there, he was in very poor condition—emaciated, neglected, and with damaged skin. Thanks to loving care, peace, and good nutrition, he has since recovered wonderfully. Maxi Junior was even lucky enough to spend a few weeks in a foster home. There, he showed his very best side: affectionate, playful, cuddly, and very clingy. He thoroughly enjoyed closeness to his humans and integrated beautifully into daily life. It’s all the more heartbreaking that he still had to leave—he simply became too big for them. Maxi bears absolutely no blame for this. Now back at the animal shelter, he is once again waiting for “his” family—people who won’t judge him by outward appearances but will appreciate his true nature. Maxi Junior is a friendly, very human-oriented, and rather calm young dog. He is curious, observant, and approaches new situations with pleasant composure, though he needs the security and support of his trusted people. With other dogs, he shows himself to be social and compatible. A confident only dog could provide him with guidance and ease his start, but this is not a requirement. Since Maxi is still in the midst of his development, we hope to find him an active, patient family who enjoys learning and growing together with him—people who gently introduce him to new experiences, provide him with security, and share a love for doing things together, whether out in nature, during training, or simply in everyday life. Many things, such as car rides, cafés, or unfamiliar environments, are still new to him and must be built up step by step. For this, Maxi brings the best prerequisites: he is open-minded, eager to learn, and forms strong bonds with his people. With the right support, he will blossom into a wonderful companion for everyday life. Due to his sensitive nature, we do not see him in a household with small children. Maxi Junior is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and holds an EU pet passport. Regarding travel arrangements, he has been tested for Mediterranean diseases and has been dewormed and treated for fleas. About Maxi Junior

What life with Maxi Junior looks like

Maxi Junior is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Maxi Junior, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Maxi Junior?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Maxi Junior on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Maxi Junior if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Maxi Junior already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Maxi Junior isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Maxi Junior and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
