Maxi Tom was found in the middle of the road, where he was hit by a car. The finder took him to a veterinarian, who informed them that they could offer 50 euros for his care. He received the most urgent pain management therapy, after which we accepted him into the animal shelter. We found out that Tom has a fracture of the tail, which fortunately does not affect his ability to walk. Despite this, a very extensive operation was necessary, which cost us 1,800 euros. Soon it turned out that the operation, despite the recommendations of a recognized orthopedist, was unnecessary. In fact, the pins that fixed the fracture started causing discomfort and pain. Therefore, Tom had to undergo another operation, which also included amputation of the tail. Unfortunately, Tom is also FeLV positive, but currently without symptoms of the disease. Unfortunately, he is not yet able to fully control urination and defecation. The total cost of his veterinary care amounted to 3,757.62 euros. Therefore, we would be very happy to receive help in the form of fostering. We are aware that there will probably not be any adopters for him. Maxi Tom je bil najden sredi ceste, kjer ga je povozil avto. Najditelji so ga odpeljali na veterino, kjer so povedali, da lahko ponudijo 50 eur za njegovo oskrbo. Prejel je najnujnejšo protibolečinsko terapijo, nato pa smo ga sprejeli v zavetišče. Ugotovili smo, da ima Tom zlom vretenc, ki pa k sreči ne posega v sposobnost za hojo. Navkljub vsemu je bila potrebna zelo obsežna operacija, za katero smo odšteli 1.800 eur. Kmalu pa se je izkazalo, da je bila operacija navkljub priporočilom priznanega ortopeda, nepotrebna. Pravzaprav so pričele igle, ki so fiksirale zlom povzročati nelagodje in bolečino. Zato je moral Tom ponovno na operacijo, ki je vključevala še amputacijo repa. Tom je žal tudi FeLV pozitiven, vendar trenutno brez simptomov bolezni. Žal zaenkrat še ni zmožen popolne kontrole odvajanja urina in blata.
