Lieve Maybel had een heel moeilijke start van haar leventje, ze werd ondervoed en ziek gevonden en eten is voor haar heel belangrijk. Dat merken we als er een potje natvoer open gaat, Dan spurt ze opgewonden naar haar bordje en hapt ze het eten op, bang dat de andere katjes het zouden afpakken. En alhoewel ze een heel rustig en gelukkig katje is nu, zal het nog even duren tot ze beseft dat ze altijd eten zal krijgen.
