Meadow

Belgian Malinois · Female · Young · 2 years

Meadow is an intelligent girl with plenty of potential, though she’s still learning and developing her skills. She’s highly motivated by toys and food, which makes training both rewarding and fun. While she enjoys playing other dogs on walks, she would be best suited as the only pet for now. She'd love to find a training focused owner who can keep her mind engaged and continue the progress she’s already made. Meadow has come a long way during her time in care, and ongoing support from our behaviour team will be provided to help her and her new family succeed. Meadow is going to make a very rewarding dog for someone willing to give her the time, love and support she needs. Animal Welfare licence number is AWE02, as licenced by Glasgow City Council. Meadow is a lively, energetic young dog who’s searching for an owner ready to match her enthusiasm for life. At just under 2, this Malinois x Lurcher is incredibly fast, playful, and loves to play fetch. She would thrive in a calm home environment, ideally away from busy or noisy roads. Meadow needs direct access to a private, secure garden with fencing of at least 5ft. When out and about, she should be kept on a lead, and a muzzle is recommended in more stressful/crowded situations. An active, adult only home would suit her best, especially with someone around for most of the day to help her settle in.

About Meadow

What life with Meadow looks like

Meadow is a young adult belgian malinois dog waiting at Dogs Trust Glasgow in Glasgow.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Meadow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Meadow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Glasgow handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Meadow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Meadow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Glasgow will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Meadow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Meadow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Glasgow early rather than rehoming privately; they know Meadow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
