MEDA

Kuvasz · Male · Puppy · 6 months

🐾 Our MEDA is searching for his Forever Home 🐾 MEDA is a beautiful young Kuvasz-mixed breed who has developed wonderfully. With his silky fur, imposing paws, and loving gaze, it becomes clear that he will one day be a stately dog. Currently, he lives with other dogs in a social group at the animal shelter and shows himself to be compatible, open, and social. Kuvasz dogs are herding dogs and were originally bred to watch flocks and farms independently. These dogs are intelligent, loyal, attentive, and closely connected to their people. At the same time, they bring a certain independence and require people who understand and appreciate their qualities. Therefore, we wish for MEDA in the future a home with plenty of space – ideally a farm, a large property, or a rural home where he can observe his surroundings and fulfill his natural needs. We do not envision a life exclusively in an apartment for him. Very important: MEDA is not looking for a place as a mere farm dog. Although he would like to be outdoors later, he needs family connection. He wants to belong, live with his people, spend time together, and be loved as a full-fledged family member. The closeness to his people will be just as important to him as ample space. As MEDA is still young, he has his whole life ahead of him. With loving guidance, patience, and understanding of the qualities of a herding dog mix, he will develop into a loyal and faithful companion who ties his family closely to his big heart. 📍 Kuvasz-mixed breed 🎂 approximately 6–7 months 📏 currently about 45–50 cm ⚖️ approximately 20 kg 📅 ready to travel from October 2026 📩 Interested? Then write us a message and tell us about yourselves. Perhaps your new family member is already waiting for you.

About MEDA

What life with MEDA looks like

MEDA is a large puppy/kitten kuvasz dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting MEDA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MEDA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MEDA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MEDA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MEDA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MEDA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know MEDA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
