Mel fecha de nacimiento / dob: 28-09-2025 aprox.Personality: Her name, Mel, comes from Latin and means “honey” 🍯 And this little one couldn’t have been given a better name, because she’s a sweet, affectionate kitten who loves having someone by her side. 💛She might seem a little shy at first, but that shyness doesn’t last long. As soon as she feels safe, she seeks out pets—especially on her head and chin—and really enjoys having company. That said, she also has a bit of an independent streak: she likes to have her own space, though never too far from you, since she’ll curl up nearby and dream big. She usually does this curled up in a ball or even showing you her belly while she rests. 🥹And when she sleeps, she has a little quirk: she makes adorable chirps that sound like little cat conversations. 😻Mel also knows how to make herself understood. She loves cuddles, but if she thinks she’s had enough, she’ll let you know with a gentle nibble. It’s her way of telling you that maybe the cuddles can continue… a little later. Let her sleep peacefully, and then you’ll be rewarded.Plus, she has some very unique habits. One of them is following you into the bathroom and shamelessly lying down on your feet, because it seems like even your moment of peace needs some feline supervision. 😂🚽 And although she doesn’t show much interest in toys yet (we’re slowly winning her over), her tiny nose is always hard at work: she sniffs everything—especially any coffee she detects nearby—and will try to share it with you. ☕️👀 It’s almost at the same height as her exclusive liquid cat treats.Mel arrived at a cat colony we’ve been managing for years. She was found lying on the ground, severely malnourished. Our theory is that she was either locked up somewhere for a while or spent days wandering around looking for food. At some point, she must have had a “family,” given how sociable she is, but it’s clear they didn’t know how to appreciate this gem. After making a full recovery, she’s now at her ideal weight and ready to start a new chapter in her life. 💛She didn’t have an easy time on the streets, as she was bullied by some of the cats in the colony. She’s currently living in a foster home with other cats, but she feels vulnerable around them and isn’t at ease. That’s why Mel would be happiest as the queen of her own home. 👑 She could live with a particularly calm and respectful cat, but the ideal situation for her would be to have all the space and attention to herself, to feel that her space is 100% safe.After everything she’s been through, Mel deserves to discover what it means to feel completely safe: a quiet home, a person she can follow all the way to the bathroom, and a place where she can curl up knowing that, this time, she’s home. 🏡💛Can Iive with kids? Yes, with the proper introduction and adjustment period. Mel loves to play, so she would do well with an energetic child. She also likes to sleep close to you and have her little paw touching you. You can pick her up for a little while, but she prefers not to feel trapped by overly tight hugs.Can live with other animals? A balcony or terrace is always a plus! ************************************** Personalidad: Su nombre Mel viene del latín y significa “miel” 🍯 Y no podía haberle quedado mejor el nombre a esta pequeña, porque es una gatita dulce, cercana y encantada de tener una persona a su lado 💛Puede mostrarse un poquito tímida al principio, pero esa timidez dura muy poco. En cuanto se siente segura, busca caricias, especialmente en la cabeza y la barbilla, y disfruta muchísimo de estar acompañada. Eso sí, también tiene su puntito independiente: le gusta tener su espacio, aunque nunca demasiado lejos de ti ya que se acurrucará cerca y soñar en grande. Suele hacerlo hecha un ovillo o incluso enseñándote la barriga mientras descansa. 🥹Y cuando duerme tiene una pequeña peculiaridad: hace unos gorjeos adorables que parecen pequeñas conversaciones gatunas. 😻Mel también sabe hacerse entender. Le encantan los mimos, pero si considera que ya ha tenido suficiente, te lo hará saber con un suave mordisquito. Es su manera de decirte que quizá las caricias pueden continuar... un poquito más tarde. Déjala dormir plácidamente y luego tendrás recompensa.Además, tiene algunas aficiones muy particulares. Una de ellas es seguirte al baño y tumbarse descaradamente sobre tus pies, porque parece que tu momento de tranquilidad también necesita supervisión gatuna. 😂🚽 Y aunque todavía no muestra demasiado interés por los juguetes (poco a poco la estamos conquistando), su diminuta nariz sí está siempre trabajando: lo inspecciona todo y, especialmente, cualquier café que detecte cerca e intentará compartirlo contigo. ☕️👀 Casi casi, está a la misma altura que sus snacks líquidos exclusivos para gatos.Mel llegó a una colonia de gatos que gestionamos desde hace años. Apareció tumbada en el suelo, en un estado de desnutrición severa. Nuestra hipótesis es que pasó tiempo encerrada en algún sitio, o bien, pasó días deambulando hasta encontrar comida. En algún momento tuvo una “familia” dado el grado de sociabilización, pero está claro que no supieron apreciar a esta joya. Tras recuperarse por completo, ahora está en su peso ideal y preparada para empezar una nueva etapa en su vida💛No lo pasó bien en la calle, ya que recibió bullying de algunos gatos de la colonia. Actualmente vive en una casa de acogida con otros gatos, pero se siente vulnerable en presencia de ellos y no está tranquila. Por eso, Mel sería feliz siendo la reina de su propia casa. 👑 Podría convivir con un gato especialmente tranquilo y respetuoso, pero lo ideal para ella sería tener todo el espacio y toda la atención para ella, sentir que es su espacio 100% seguro.Después de todo lo que ha vivido, Mel merece descubrir lo que significa sentirse completamente segura: una casa tranquila, una persona a la que seguir hasta el baño y un lugar donde poder hacerse un ovillo sabiendo que, esta vez, está en casa. 🏡💛¿Puede vivir con niños? Sí, con la debida adaptación. A Mel le encanta jugar, así que un niño con energía le iría bien. También le gusta dormir cerca de ti y estar tocándote con su patita. Puedes cogerla en brazos un momentito, pero prefiere no sentirse atrapada con abrazos demasiado intensos.¿Puede vivir con otros animales?
