Adopt MEVERICK

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

MEVERICK🐕😍 Our animal rescuer Laura💁‍♀️ picked up Meverick from the street on October 9, 2020. Unfortunately, due to an error in recent years, his size was greatly overestimated, which certainly cost him several adoption opportunities when he was younger. Now we very much hope for this handsome, friendly, cheerful, and loving guy❤️ to finally find a home. Meverick is approximately 48 cm tall and about 6 years old. He had distemper but was successfully treated. However, he retained a slight distemper-related tic... which really isn't anything serious! Meverick gets along wonderfully with other dogs and with both adults and children. We don’t know for sure how he behaves around cats… but our animal rescuer suspects a cat-free household would be better. Here are two videos 🎥 of Meverick🐕: During a phone call with us, you’ll receive all the information you need about him, plus additional videos upon request! We want our dogs to go to good, reliable homes and don’t just rehome them hastily. Meverick will travel 🚚 with TRACES📄 international pet passport 📘, is microchipped, dewormed 💊, neutered, receives flea/tick prevention 🦟, and is vaccinated against parvovirus, distemper, leptospirosis, and rabies. He’ll also get his own safety harness. All of this, as well as transport to Germany, is already included in the adoption fee! Due to legal requirements, prior to travel arrangements he will additionally be tested for Giardia 🦑 and screened via a SNAP4 test for four Mediterranean diseases 🏖. After spending three days in a German foster home, he can finally move into his forever home 🏡. If interested, please fill out the "self-disclosure form" 📄 link below.

About MEVERICK

What life with MEVERICK looks like

MEVERICK is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Craiova - Hilfe für rumänische Tiere e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting MEVERICK, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MEVERICK?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Craiova - Hilfe für rumänische Tiere e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MEVERICK on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MEVERICK if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Craiova - Hilfe für rumänische Tiere e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MEVERICK already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MEVERICK isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Craiova - Hilfe für rumänische Tiere e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know MEVERICK and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
