MEVERICK

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Meverick🐕😍 Our animal rescuer Laura💁‍♀️ brought Meverick home from the streets on 10/09/2020. Unfortunately, his size was incorrectly listed as much too high over the years, which likely hurt his chances of being adopted in the past. Now, we really hope for a loving home for this handsome, friendly, lively, and sweet boy❤️. Meverick is approximately 48 cm tall and around 6 years old. He had distemper, but was successfully treated. However, he has retained a slight distemper tic...so nothing serious! Meverick gets along great with other dogs and with both big and small people. We're not sure how he'll react to cats...but our rescuer thinks a family without cats would be better. Here are two videos 🎥 of Meverick🐕: During our phone call, you'll receive all the information you need about him, as well as more videos! We want our dogs to go to good, reliable homes and don't just give them away. Meverick travels 🚚 with an international pet passport 📄, is microchipped, dewormed 💊, neutered, receives flea/tick medication 🦟, is vaccinated against parvovirus, distemper, leptospirosis, rabies, and gets his own safety harness. All of this, as well as the transport to Germany, is included in the adoption fee! Due to legal regulations, he will also be tested for giardiasis 🦑 and four Mediterranean diseases 🏖️ using a SNAP4 test before his trip. After three days at a German foster home, he'll finally be able to move into his forever home 🏡. Adoption fee: €390 If you're interested, please fill out the "Self-Disclosure" 📄 link below or email us ✍️.

About MEVERICK

What life with MEVERICK looks like

MEVERICK is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Craiova - Hilfe für rumänische Tiere e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting MEVERICK, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MEVERICK?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Craiova - Hilfe für rumänische Tiere e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MEVERICK on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MEVERICK if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Craiova - Hilfe für rumänische Tiere e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is MEVERICK already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MEVERICK isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Craiova - Hilfe für rumänische Tiere e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know MEVERICK and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
