Mia

Female ยท Young ยท 3 years

Hello everyone! ๐Ÿพ Let me introduce myself: my name is Mia, Iโ€™m a small-to-medium sized female dog (18 kg) and I was born around August 2023. Unfortunately, my owner is now alone and can no longer keep me due to health reasons. Thatโ€™s why she hopes to find a family who will love me and take care of me forever. Iโ€™m a loving and playful girl. I adore playing with my ball. Iโ€™m very intelligent and well-behaved, I walk nicely on the leash, live indoors, and do my business outside. I get along well with other dogs, while my relationship with cats still needs to be evaluated. Iโ€™m vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed โ€“ ready to start a new life with people who will truly love me. Would you give me this chance? I am currently in Italy and Iโ€™m looking for a new home anywhere in Europe! ๐Ÿ‘‰ I am vaccinated, neutered and tested negative for Ehrlichia, Anaplasma, Dirofilaria, Brucellosis and Leishmania. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Adoption only with a protection contract, adoption fee and home check (RBU included). ๐Ÿ“ Foster/adoption form: ๐Ÿ“ž ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Chiara (WhatsApp) โ€“ ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Chiara (WhatsApp only) โ€“ ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Sabrina (WhatsApp)

About Mia

What life with Mia looks like

Mia is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Furry Rescue Italy in Nazionale.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" โ€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures โ€” to let them settle.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡นAdopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Furry Rescue Italy handles screening and the adoption contract directly โ€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad โ€” Furry Rescue Italy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra โ‚ฌ100โ€“โ‚ฌ350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported โ€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work โ€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Furry Rescue Italy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect โ€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
