Somewhere on the edge of a village, near a wooded area, abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Luckily, the three were left exactly where one of our animal rescuers regularly passes by. When she discovered the little mice, she couldn't just keep driving. So all three were collected and brought to safety. 🤍 Mia is one of the three sisters – and when you see her today, you hardly want to believe that her start in life had to look like that. Because Mia is a really sweet, open little dog girl. She approaches people friendly and curious and shows herself so far uncomplicated and puppy-typical interested in everything there is to discover. 🥰 She has also already made the first steps in the direction of dog ABC: Mia already knows a little bit about walking on a leash, although of course she is still at the beginning and together with her future people she still has a lot to learn. She gets along very well with other dogs, and she already knows cats. She has not yet met children. Due to her open and friendly nature, we can imagine a coexistence in principle – of course with a respectful treatment and a corresponding acclimatization. For Mia, we wish a home on the outskirts of the city or in a rural environment, with people who are keen to show a young dog the world. Dog experience is nice, but ambitious dog beginners may also feel addressed. Whether as a single princess or with a suitable dog companion at her side – for Mia, what counts above all is finally arriving somewhere really. 🏡🤍 We would also be very happy about a foster home, so that Mia can take the next step in her new life. Do you want to show Mia that a beautiful dog life can wait after such a sad start – and maybe even love her forever? 🐾🤍 .fusion-body .fusion-button Interest in an adoption? About Mia

What life with Mia looks like

Mia is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Nordic Strays e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nordic Strays e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nordic Strays e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nordic Strays e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
