Mia

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Mia is a sweet-natured petite young lady with a big purr. Mia came into our care after living on the streets for a while. She had been abandoned when her previous family moved and as she hadn’t been neutered, she found herself alone on the streets with kittens. This experience has understandably made Mia nervous.Mia loves a fuss, especially a tickle under the chin, her food, and playtime – particularly chasing and jumping up at a wand toy and patting balls on her ball tower. This lovely little girl would appreciate a quiet, calm adult only home, ideally with her own space while she acclimatises. Her new parents will need to be understanding and give her the time and space to settle into her home at her pace. We are looking for a home with a secure garden away from any busy roads, as eventually Mia will need access to the outside via a catflap. Mia has a microchipped, been spayed, has up to date vaccinations and flea and worm treatment. If you are interested in giving Mia a safe and loving forever home please complete our application form below or leave your name, address, phone number, email address and some details about yourself and your home to: Email: :

About Mia

What life with Mia looks like

Mia is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at RSPCA North Wiltshire (Oak & Furrows) in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA North Wiltshire (Oak & Furrows) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA North Wiltshire (Oak & Furrows) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA North Wiltshire (Oak & Furrows) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
