Mia

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 5 months

Basic vaccination + rabies vaccine Mia (4.5 months old, microchipped, vaccinated) – I’m a smart little dog girl looking for my forever home and a life filled with happiness. I’m full of joy and curiosity about the world. I learn incredibly fast and love to please my people. I’m sure to become an amazing companion! I’m already house-trained—how wonderful is that? And I walk nicely on the leash too! Even riding in the car on the back seat doesn’t bother me anymore! Every day, I make small progress and show just how eager to learn I am! For example, the “sit” command comes perfectly now! I’m playful, curious, and explore the world with great enthusiasm. In my foster family, I live together with cats—I find them fascinating, but I approach them with typical puppy-like interest, says my mom! Now, all I’m missing is the most important thing: people who’ll give me time to get to know the world, lovingly accompany me, and offer me a forever home. Whoever gives me this chance will gain a smart, cheerful, and loyal friend for life. You can meet me, Zuckermaus, in 5202 Neumarkt am Wallersee. Please send your inquiry for Mia!

About Mia

What life with Mia looks like

Mia is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ankerhunde e.V. in Novi Grad.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇧🇦Adopting from Bosnia and Herzegovina

Frequently asked

Adopting Mia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ankerhunde e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ankerhunde e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ankerhunde e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
