She came to us at the animal shelter because she had attacked her owner multiple times and no longer wanted to enter the apartment. The story of Mielee is as follows: Mielee was kept as a single cat until the last as a puppy in the apartment. The owner herself was out of the house for 12 hours because she is employed. But Mielee spent the whole day alone at home and became depressed. Eventually, she attacked her owner out of frustration. Mielee has no health problems. She was thoroughly examined from head to toe, and an MRT found nothing. At the animal shelter, Mielee was very stressed and tried to get out of the situation with pretend attacks. She received antidepressants for a time. This helped us show her that we have no bad intentions, and we made as many enrichment games as possible with her. Things got better, and we managed to get out of the medication. Now we are looking for a new home for Mielee with unrestricted access. The area should be quiet, preferably near the forest, field, and meadow. The owners should have experience and also be willing to do further training sessions with Mielee. At the animal shelter, Mielee never attacked or injured a caregiver, but she did make threatening attacks that were very scary. One must be able to read cats and not be afraid. Multiple meet-ups are definitely very important and a prerequisite. By now, Mielee has become very relaxed. She lets herself be stroked, combed, and also enjoys being very relaxed with her known caregivers. Strangers are still eyed suspiciously, but everything is much, much better. One could say: Therapy successful. Mielee has also become very funny and playful and shows herself to be a good mouser. Unfortunately, mice sometimes find their way into the outdoor enclosure.

Sie ist zu uns ins Tierheim gekommen, da sie mehrmals ihre Halterin attackiert hat und nicht mehr in die Wohnung reinlassen wollte. Die Geschichte von Mielee ist die: Mielee wurde als Welpe bis zuletzt als Einzelkatze in der Wohnung gehalten. Die Halterin selbst war 12 Stunden außer Haus, da sie ja berufstätig ist. Aber Mielee saß den ganzen Tag alleine zu Hause und wurde depressiv. Irgendwann hat sie dann ihre Halterin aus Frust angegriffen. Gesundheitlich gibt es bei Mielee keine Probleme. Sie wurde von Kopf bis Fuß untersucht, auch ein MRT hat nichts gefunden. Im Tierheim war Mielee sehr gestresst und hat versucht mit Scheinattacken aus der Situation rauszukommen. Sie hat eine Zeitlang Antidepressiva bekommen. So konnten wir ihr zeigen, dass wir nichts Böses möchten und haben viele Beschäftigungsspiele, soweit es möglich war, mit ihr gemacht. Es wurde immer besser und wir haben uns mit den Medikamenten ausgeschlichen. Nun suchen wir für Mielee ein neues Zuhause mit uneingeschränkten Freigang. Die Gegend sollte verkehrsarm, am besten nahe am Wald, Feld und Flur sein. Die Halter sollten Erfahrung und auch Lust zu weiteren Übungsstunden mit Mielee haben. Im Tierheim hat Mielee aber nie eine Pflegerin verletzt oder angegriffen, aber sie hat Drohattacken gemacht, die sehr gruselig waren. Man muss Katzen „lesen“ können und keine Angst haben. Mehrmaliges Kennenlernen ist auf jeden Fall sehr wichtig und Voraussetzung. Mittlerweile ist Mielee sehr entspannt geworden. Sie lässt sich kraulen, bürsten und schmust auch gerne sehr entspannt mit ihren bekannten Pflegern. Fremde Menschen werden noch misstrauisch beäugt, aber es ist alles viel viel besser geworden. Man könnte sagen: Therapie gelungen. Mielee ist auch sehr witzig und lustig geworden und zeigt sich als gute Mausefängerin. Leider verirren sich manchmal Mäuse im Außenzwinger.
