Mięta

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 8 years

Mięta arrived at our shelter in January of this year with her brother, Kardamon. The lady who brought them in witnessed the abuse of these cats – Miętka was kicked in the ribs so hard that she flew a good distance off the ground. When the drunk perpetrator left, the lady secured the cats and without hesitation brought them to the shelter. Miętka’s exceptional appearance is a result of years of abuse at the hands of the person described above. Upon arriving at Ekostraży, she had a broken and burned tail, as well as burned ears. But despite all the pain Miętka has endured, she is still a loving and trusting cat. Mięta is about 8 years old and has a very gentle, almost delicate personality. She loves being petted and playing with toys – she will definitely not pass by pom-poms or a fishing rod without interest. When she has something to say, she will vocalize it. We are looking for a loving and understanding home that will compensate her for the pain of her past. Her relationship with other animals is different, so if there are other four-legged friends in the new home, it will be necessary to patiently socialize her. Mięta currently resides in a temporary home, but we hope she will find her permanent place soon. The cat is spayed.

PL·Show original

Kiedy pijany oprawca odszedł, pani zabezpieczyła koty i bez zastanowienia przywiozła je do azylu. Jej stosunek do innych zwierząt jest różny, dlatego jeśli w nowym domu przebywają inni czteronożni przyjaciele, należy cierpliwie przeprowadzić proces socjalizacji. Mięta przebywa obecnie w domu tymczasowym, ale zależy nam żeby znalazła swoje miejsce już na zawsze. Kotka jest wykastrowana. FIV i FELV ujemny, brak chorób przewlekłych

About Mięta

What life with Mięta looks like

Mięta is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja EkoStraż in Wrocław.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mięta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mięta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja EkoStraż handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mięta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mięta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja EkoStraż will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mięta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mięta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja EkoStraż early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mięta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
