Adopt Mijilla

Podenco · Female · Young · 1 year

Animal shelter Galgos en Familia Input 13 April 2026: Mijilla is looking for a loving home. This beautiful lady was rescued by a rescue team using a catch cage. Completely alone, hidden on the countryside, she tried to remain unnoticed. Not long ago, Mijilla arrived at our shelter, and everything is still new and exciting for her. Because of this, she can sometimes be a bit restless and uncertain. That's not surprising, as she needs to get used to her new environment at the animal shelter. Fortunately, the volunteers see her taking small steps forward every day. With patience and love, she is slowly gaining trust and is beginning to blossom. Mijilla gets along great with other dogs. She is social, stable, and enjoys being with her fellow dogs, both males and females. In fact, she clearly enjoys their company. Therefore, she would love if there is another dog already present in her future home, so they can play and relax together. Mijilla dreams of a warm family that sees her for who she truly is: a sweet, sensitive dog who has so much love to give. A place where she never has to be alone again and where she is not seen as a means, but as a full-fledged family member. We hope her dream becomes reality soon ❤️ The size of Mijilla is currently unknown and has been requested at the animal shelter. Mijilla is currently being treated for anaplasma and ehrlichia.

About Mijilla

What life with Mijilla looks like

Mijilla is a medium-sized young adult podenco dog waiting at description in AL Ridderkerk.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mijilla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mijilla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. description handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mijilla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mijilla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — description will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mijilla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mijilla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with description early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mijilla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
