Mike (*approx. 03/2024, approx. 50 cm) is a beautiful Podenco-Terrier mix originally from our partner animal shelter TripleA in Marbella, Spain. This friendly male dog was incredibly lucky—he was able to travel to Germany just one month later, in June 2026. Since then, Mike has been living with a female Podenco-mix dog in his family and has proven to be an absolutely social and well-behaved companion. A friendly canine buddy—preferably another female dog—would certainly suit him well in his new home. However, he’d also happily settle into a life as an only dog, provided his people can devote enough time to him. Currently, Mike lives in a lovely house with a large garden right in the middle of the forest. As idyllic as that may sound, the abundance of wildlife—such as squirrels, birds, and mice—unfortunately causes constant stress for this hunting-motivated male dog. He hardly ever gets a chance to relax there, which is why we’d like him to find a home in a less stimulating environment where he can truly unwind and de-stress. Mike is an exceptionally intelligent, attentive, and eager-to-learn dog. He loves working together with his people, already knows basic commands, and responds very well to training. Balls are among his greatest passions—but it’s important not to overstimulate him with them. Instead, scent-and-search games or a filled Kong toy would be much more suitable, as they provide him with species-appropriate mental stimulation and help him stay balanced. Der freundliche Rüde hatte großes Glück und durfte bereits einen Monat später – im Juni 2026 – nach Deutschland reisen. Seitdem lebt Mike gemeinsam mit einer Podenco-Mischlingshündin in seiner Familie und zeigt sich dort als absolut sozialer und verträglicher Hund. Ein freundlicher Hundekumpel – am liebsten eine Hündin – würde ihm im neuen Zuhause sicherlich gefallen. Er kommt dort kaum zur Ruhe, weshalb wir uns für ihn ein Zuhause in einer eher reizarmen Umgebung wünschen, in der er entspannen und auch mal entstressen kann. Mike ist ein ausgesprochen kluger, aufmerksamer und lernfreudiger Hund. Er arbeitet gerne mit seinen Menschen zusammen, kennt bereits erste Grundkommandos und lässt sich sehr gut anleiten. Bälle gehören zu seinen größten Leidenschaften – dabei sollte jedoch darauf geachtet werden, ihn nicht zu sehr hochzufahren. Viel besser eignen sich Such- und Schnüffelspiele oder ein gefüllter Kong, denn diese beschäftigen ihn artgerecht und helfen ihm, ausgeglichen zu bleiben. Der liebe Rüde sucht die Nähe seiner Menschen und genießt ausgiebige Kuscheleinheiten auf dem Sofa. Katzen sollten allerdings nicht zu seiner neuen Familie gehören.
