Adopt Miko

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 2 years

Description Miko is a young and beautiful cat, 2 and a half years old, looking for a new home where he can be happy. He has an amazing clear coat and enchanting blue eyes that captivate anyone. He is an active, playful, and very social cat, accustomed to human interaction and with well-established routines: he is neutered, vaccinated, healthy, and uses the litter box without any issues. Miko has a high level of activity and needs plenty of play and daily stimulation: he loves to play, explore, and participate in family life. Sometimes, when he wants attention, he may give small playful nips, which is typical of young energetic cats. Due to his lively nature, Miko would fit especially well in a home familiar with cats or with people who enjoy his vitality and know how to channel it through play, enrichment, and routines. He doesn’t require anything extraordinary, just someone who understands his feline language and can positively accompany his energy. His current family loves him very much, but they live in a small apartment, and their young daughter has developed a fear of that vitality, creating a complicated coexistence. For this reason, with much love, they are seeking a home where he can develop fully and receive the stimulation he needs. If you are looking for a fun, affectionate, and lively companion, Miko could be your cat.

About Miko

What life with Miko looks like

Miko is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Sálvanos Protectora in Spain.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Miko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Miko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Sálvanos Protectora handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Miko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Miko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Sálvanos Protectora will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Miko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Miko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Sálvanos Protectora early rather than rehoming privately; they know Miko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
