Adopt Mikrus

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Mikrusek came to us from an intervention with several dogs. The dogs lived in poor conditions and had no proper socialization with people. Some dogs found homes very quickly, but others needed more time to open up to humans. One of them was Mikrus. At first, he was very distrustful, but with the work of volunteers, he gradually began to open up. Despite this, he is still very cautious around people. However, each day he makes increasingly better progress. When he sees people he knows, he stands by the gate and waits for his dream walk. He allows himself to be petted. For the female dog he arrived with, he is a great support. In the kennel, he sits with the dog and a female dog with whom he gets along well. A potential family wanting to adopt Mikrus should be prepared for possible work with a behaviorist. Please find a home for Mikrus at an animal shelter; he will never fully open up... He knows the leash. Born in 2019, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Mikrusek przyjechał do nas z interwencji wraz z kilkudziesięcioma psami. Zna smycz. Urodzony w 2019r. Wykastrowany, zaszczepiony i zaczipowany. KASIA 507 237 447 OLA 533 564 074

About Mikrus

What life with Mikrus looks like

Mikrus is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Radom in Radom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mikrus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mikrus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Radom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mikrus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mikrus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Radom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mikrus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mikrus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Radom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mikrus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
