Adopt MILA

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Our European Shorthair cat MILA was dropped off due to the owner's move. She is neutered and was born on 01.09.2024. MILA requires a very quiet and structured home without children. She reacts sensitively to environmental stimuli and is still very unsure when dealing with new situations. Therefore, her future owners should have cat experience and be able to safely interpret her body language. MILA is not compatible with other animals and will only be rehomed in single ownership. She will be rehomed in an apartment with a cat-safe netted balcony. MILA is talkative, people-oriented, and generally friendly, but needs time to build trust. She only enjoys closeness and cuddles in her own measure. Sometimes she does not recognize her own limits in time, which can lead to overstimulation. For MILA, we are looking for cat-experienced, patient people who can provide her with a safe environment, respect her boundaries, and offer a low-stress living space. This animal was surrendered to the shelter. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About MILA

What life with MILA looks like

MILA is a small young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim München in Munich.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting MILA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MILA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim München handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MILA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MILA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim München will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MILA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MILA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim München early rather than rehoming privately; they know MILA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
