Mila

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Mila – Heroines can sometimes be very small → Breed: Mix → Gender: Female → Born: 06/2024 → Size / Weight: 45 cm / 15 kg → Neutered: yes → Vaccinated: yes → Microchip: yes → Compatible with: Male and female dogs → Incompatible with: unknown → Sponsorship possible: yes Description Mila is a young female dog – and yet she has already shown a strength that is deeply impressive. Shortly before her puppies were born, she was able to arrive safely in one of our pensions. Just in time. Since then, she has taken care of her babies with endless patience, care and a lot of love. Calm, gentle and full of trust, she has proven how big a small heart can be. Now her time has come. Her puppies will soon find their own families and Mila should finally experience how it feels to be taken care of herself. She should no longer just bear responsibility, but arrive, play, discover and simply be able to be a dog without care. Mila does not know family life so far. Housebreaking, the dog ABC or the many small things that become a matter of course for our four-legged friends, she will only learn. For this she needs people who have patience, take her lovingly by the paw and show her that a home is a place of security. Perfection is not required, but understanding, time and an open heart. Whoever gives Mila this chance gets the wonderful opportunity to experience it together.

About Mila

What life with Mila looks like

Mila is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Franz von Assisi e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Franz von Assisi e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Franz von Assisi e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Franz von Assisi e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
