adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Mila has found her home! Her story: Mila is a young female puppy, currently living with our foster parent Luminita in Bistrița. She was surrendered with four siblings. For this little family, it began a hard fight, as they contracted Parvovirus. Unfortunately, only two of the five puppies survived. Mila belongs to the small group of survivors who made it and are now ready for a new life. Despite this tough start, Mila shows herself to be a happy, very social, and playful young female dog. She currently lives with other dogs and gets along well with them. She also knows cats and meets them friendly and curiously. Mila is open, people-oriented, and would like to be everywhere. With her almost three and a half months, Mila is still in the puppy stage. She is curiously exploring her environment, playing, and gathering new impressions daily. At the same time, she still has to learn the entire dog ABC. House training, leash manners, being alone, and consistent daily routines are still new to her. Her future people should be ready to introduce her patiently and lovingly to everything. Like all young dogs, Mila is still approaching puberty. In this phase, rules are questioned, boundaries are tested, and sometimes learned things are forgotten. With calmness, clear structures, and positive reinforcement, Mila will master this time well. A visit to a positively working dog training class can be a great support. Mila is looking for people who are aware that a puppy means time, patience, and responsibility. In return, you get a happy, social, and loving companion who still has her life ahead of her and wants to grow closely with her people. Mila travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with her EU pet passport to her new home. Age-wise, she is not yet spayed. Who will give this little fighter the start in a safe and loving life? Many thanks to namesake Paulina, who gave Mila her name and thus a chance at a new future. As of: 15.04. Some symptoms here are age-related.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 15.04.2026

About Mila

What life with Mila looks like

Mila is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
