Milka

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Milka is heading straight to her own home! Her story: Milka is one of seven lively puppy siblings—along with Enno, Dougy, Leika, Marcie, Linus, and Peppermint Patty. Together with her mother Bellina, she was rescued, cared for, and raised by a loving family before the small family moved into the shelter in Busag. In the family, a little boy lovingly cared for Milka and her siblings, giving the puppies a particularly gentle start in life. Milka stands out with her beautiful beige fur, the striking dark face, and a white spot on her snout. Her white paws look like little socks and make her a real looker. Typical puppy-like, Milka is playful, curious, and friendly to all two- and four-legged beings. She loves to play, snuggle, and explore the world. Especially in the circle of her siblings, she shows herself to be open, happy, and receptive. When the siblings are not around, she—like her brothers and sisters—becomes a bit more unsure. That's why we wish for Milka people who will be there with lots of patience and love during the beginning, helping her to gain security in the big new world. Soon, too, Milka will enter the puppy adolescence—this exciting phase where puppies like to test how far they can go and sometimes forget what they have learned. With loving consistency, humor, and patience, Milka will master all of this with her new family and grow into a happy, reliable companion. Whoever takes Milka in will not only get a cute puppy but a big heart on four fluffy little socks—ready for her own adventure! After a positive adoption, thank you to Mathea. Thanks to you, Milka has an identity and can now go on the search for her Forever Home. Status: 06.12. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Lieben Dank an Mathea. Stand: 06.12.2025

About Milka

What life with Milka looks like

Milka is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
