Millie

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Size: 53 cmAge: Estimated January 2022Compatible with:Males: YesFemales: YesCats: Not yet testedIn our care since: February 28, 2026Location: Amposta, Spain, May 2026 – Our black beauty Millie came to Monika’s rescue shelter from a dog pound. There, she has proven herself to be a friendly and warm-hearted dog in the prime of her life. Initially, Millie is a bit shy around strangers, but given a little time, she gradually warms up and reveals her gentle and loving side. Once she’s gained trust, she becomes very affectionate, seeks our company, and thoroughly enjoys every cuddle and stroke. Millie gets along wonderfully with other dogs and confidently interacts within the group. For her future home, we’re looking for a calm and loving household where she can settle at her own pace. Millie wants to explore the world together with her people—without pressure, but with patience and understanding—and let them show her just how wonderful life can be. Millie would also greatly enjoy mental stimulation, which would further strengthen the human-dog bond. Anyone who gives Millie this chance will gain a loyal companion who blossoms more and more with each passing day. If you’d like to offer Millie a loving home, we’d be delighted to receive many inquiries.

About Millie

What life with Millie looks like

Millie is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tiere in Spanien e.V. in Hamburg.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Millie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Millie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiere in Spanien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Millie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Millie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiere in Spanien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Millie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Millie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiere in Spanien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Millie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
