adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Millie has found a home! Her story: Cluj, Romania. Camillo, Meeko, Teddy, Millie, and Pico – the suitcases are packed! Who can resist falling in love with those adorable little faces? Currently, five siblings are waiting in a private animal shelter in Romania to travel to Germany, hoping to be forever adopted into a loving and caring family. Millie is the only girl in the litter and looks simply dreamy. She looks like a little Goldendoodle, as if someone had ordered her from a breeder and not found her in the trash… Millie has a super balanced personality and is a wonderful dog. She is open, happy, and enjoys all sorts of affection. In some situations, she can be a bit unsure, but she gains confidence and courage every day. She is a curious puppy at heart. She is friendly and open, loves the people on site, and gets along well with other dogs and cats. In a few months, Millie will then enter puberty. This is an important life phase for every dog, during which the foundations for the future are set. Everything that has been learned will be quickly forgotten, and some rules will be questioned. But we are sure that the clever Millie will emerge from this phase as a confident dog, thanks to loving and consistent training, and will develop into a great companion for her people. We wish for the sweet puppy a loving and sensitive adopter who will give her enough time and space to settle into her new living situation at her own pace. After the adjustment period, it is certainly advisable to attend positive dog training classes with Millie, as shared training will strengthen her confidence and the bond with people. The little mouse can then be microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated, and treated for fleas. She will pack her EU pet passport into her suitcase. Do you want to be the person who shows Millie what a good dog life looks like? Many thanks, Clara! You have given Millie her name!

Vielen Dank Clara! Du hast Millie seinen Namen geschenkt!

About Millie

What life with Millie looks like

Millie is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Millie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Millie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Millie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Millie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Millie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Millie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Millie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
