Adopt Milo

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

Milo, a dog born in 2015, is a wonderful dog with an angelic disposition. When he arrived at our shelter, he didn't cause any problems at all; he was very positively oriented and didn't push himself on others. It was hard not to love him from the start. Milo was a bit unsure of himself, but a pat or a crouch was enough to make him contently snuggle up for some affection which he loves very much. Unfortunately, he doesn't quite understand what's going on when it comes to walking on a leash. Nobody has taught him, and it will take a bit of patience and calmness to take him out somewhere. He's a sensible dog, so it's only a matter of time before he learns. As for his behavior with other dogs, he behaves admirably in the company of even many dogs. He doesn't seek fights and shows submissiveness towards others. There is absolutely no aggression in him, so it couldn't be otherwise. Besides, Milo isn't an overly active dog; he has a calm temperament and doesn't go wild at the park. He's the kind of dog who is focused on the human and wants to please them. We still haven't determined his relationship with cats, but we can check this in controlled conditions at the client's request. We highly recommend Milo as a family pet. He will certainly not leave his new family and will repay their kindness with his loyalty for the home they have given him. Milo is neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, and spayed.

Milo, pies urodzony w 2015r. Milo to cudowny psiak o anielskim usposobieniu. Nikt go tego nie nauczył i potrzeba trochę cierpliwości i spokoju żeby go gdzieś wyprowadzić.

About Milo

What life with Milo looks like

Milo is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
