Milton

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Milton is a neutered mixed-breed male born in July 2025, who was found as a puppy with his seven siblings Morris, Marvin, Marie, Mandy, Martha, Margo, and Mirna on the landfill of the nearby city of Beocin and brought to the animal shelter in Svilos. He is now eagerly waiting for a loving family. Milton is a friendly, open-minded male who approaches people with a lot of interest and openness. He is a lively, playful, and energetic dog who loves to be active and plays with balls and other games. He also enjoys petting, but not for very long, as he is soon drawn to playing and romping again. Milton is attentive, cooperative, and likes to do things with his humans. He would certainly enjoy learning new things, mastering small tasks, and being integrated into his family's daily life as an active companion. Milton gets along very well with his own kind, but we do not know his behavior towards cats and other animals. For this lively fellow, we wish for people who share his enthusiasm for movement and joint activities and would like to offer him both physical and mental occupation. Varied walks, exciting challenges, and playful games would make Milton happy. The dog's shoulder height is 47 cm and he weighs about 15 kg.

About Milton

What life with Milton looks like

Milton is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Care Hungary.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milton, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milton?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Care Hungary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milton on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milton if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Care Hungary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Milton already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milton isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Care Hungary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milton and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
