adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Milva has found a new home! Her story: Our lovely Milva is searching for a new home! Originally she came from Baia Mare in Romania. Milva is an energetic female dog who at first is still shy. But once she gains trust, she becomes a faithful companion. She loves long walks and finds tracking training very enjoyable. Basic commands she still doesn't master so well – Milva would rather play. But on the leash and on the streets, she behaves impeccably. She is fully recallable, even without treats. She is house-trained and knows where her sleeping spot is, and spends the entire night there. She needs dog-experienced, active people without children who would also make a good second dog, as she likes to orient herself on other dogs. Milva is about 11 months old and has soft, brown-black fur, funny ears, and shiny, black button eyes. Currently she is about 60 cm shoulder height, she might still grow a bit. We wish Milva very much that her life will now fundamentally change, that she will soon become one of the lucky ones who find the right people who will show her how wonderful life can be. Shepherd dog genes cannot be ruled out due to her appearance. Milva is likely in the middle of puberty. This is also a time for dogs when the foundations for the rest of their life are set. Therefore, we recommend Milva's new people to visit a positively working dog training class. Patient and loving training will strengthen her self-confidence and the bond to her trusted people. Through regular contact with fellow animals and many positive experiences with her people, Milva will quickly learn the 1×1 for a wonderful family dog and develop into a happy and reliable companion. Who will give Milva a new home? We thank heartily the namingsponsor Monika V., who chose the sweet, little Milva's name. Stand: 20.06. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 20.06.2024

About Milva

What life with Milva looks like

Milva is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milva, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milva?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milva on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milva if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milva already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milva isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milva and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
