Mina

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Mina is a young female dog, friendly, balanced and pleasant to be around. Our local helpers describe her as modest and gentle with a very loving nature. She is initially somewhat reserved in new situations, but quickly finds orientation with her human and seeks support from them. Mina is about 1 year old, about 51 cm tall and weighs around 17 kg. She is a rather quiet and balanced dog who enjoys the company of people without pushing herself forward. Her pleasant nature makes her a dog that is likely to integrate well into different family structures. Mina is also social and well-behaved with other dogs. Mina was rescued from the public shelter in Zalau, where unfortunately animals are still killed in overcrowding. Mina was fortunately rescued in time. We do not know what her life was like before. Today she is waiting in our rescue center for people who want to give her a home and show her the world outside the shelter. We wish Mina a family that gives her the necessary time, patience and empathy to settle into her new home. Since we do not know if Mina has already lived in a home, many rules, noises and routines will be new to her. In unfamiliar situations she is still somewhat reserved, but orients herself well with her human and seeks support from them. People who give her security and patiently accompany her will enable her to gradually settle into her new daily routine and gain trust. Mina travels spayed, chipped, vaccinated, dewormed and de-fleaed with her valid EU pet passport to her new home. After a positive pre-check she can be placed for a deposit. A foster home would also be an important stepping stone and a great opportunity for her. Thank you Nicole S.! You gave Mina her name! Status: 29.09.2026

Vielen Dank Nicole S.! Du hast Mina ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 29.09.2026

About Mina

What life with Mina looks like

Mina is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
