Minara

Mixed Breed · Female

Minara captivates everyone with her calm and open nature and has quickly become everyone's favorite. She lives in the home of Tierhilfe Franken e.V. and thus has constant contact with various people and fellow animals. In dog groups of varying sizes, Minara gets along well and, through her sovereign nature, almost effortlessly supports the training of the still lively and/or rebellious fellow animals, which are still in the middle of dog training classes and can thus learn proper behavior from an experienced and composed female dog. Since she had insufficient exercise in the past, regular and targeted movement is now building up her muscles, and since her arrival at the animal shelter, her posture has already improved significantly. A careful handling during play and walks will continue to help her develop a stable musculature. On the road, Minara shows herself as a true professional, she walks flawlessly on the leash, orienting herself to her primary caregiver and constantly making independent contact with her. She has no problems with external stimuli of various kinds, even loud barking and abusive dogs barely elicit a reaction from her. She is interested and a little excited, but through clear guidance, she masters such encounters with sovereign composure. She enjoys extensive cuddles and allows herself to be petted and touched everywhere. Even necessary wound care or fur grooming are done patiently and lovingly by her. One of her hobbies is water, she loves to splash in the dog pool and cool off on hot days. For anyone looking for a loyal companion for any situation in life, Minara is definitely at the right address, because she is a real gem of a dog!

DE·Show original

About Minara

What life with Minara looks like

Minara is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Franken e.V. in Lauf.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Franken e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Franken e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Franken e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
