Minerva

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 11 years

Minerva or Big Mama, as the locals called her, came from the Riisipere colony. Ironically, she was the colony's alpha female. Towards people, she was friendly, responsible, and a good dog mom. Before she was finally caught and sent to the colony, she had managed to give birth to three litters. Minerva wasn't exactly a pushover at the foster home either; she displayed her entire life with a disappointed attitude towards her people. It took a long time for her to start wagging her tail, which was appropriate and a relief. A little trust and fear subsided, and Minerva began to feel more free and gentle. With the joy of play, she finally started to wag her tail at the end. Unfortunately, the traumas have left their mark, and the dog mom still shows her trust and friendship to each one immediately. She also shows concern if anything is not right. Big Mama is ready to go home, where she can live happily and enjoy herself when she wants to. The other dogs don't have any problems with Minerva, or it would be even better if someone in her new home were to eagerly await her.

ET·Show original

About Minerva

What life with Minerva looks like

Minerva is a large senior mixed breed cat waiting at Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ in Estonia.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇪🇪Adopting from Estonia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minerva, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minerva?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minerva on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minerva if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minerva already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minerva isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minerva and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ET). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
